The Harcourt Bindery is a distributor in the United States for the book cloths made by the Van Heek Scholco Company of Holland, the dominant bookcloth manufacturer in Europe. These bookcloths come in brilliant colors, as well as in natural finished cotton and linen cloths.
Unique in the U.S., these fabrics are paper-backed for easy gluing and minimal stretch. The addition of some rayon allows a brilliancy of color not otherwise found in the domestic market -- there are no pyroxylin or other fillers. The natural linens are archivally balanced.
Harcourt stocks a very wide variety of colors and qualities, and can ship from inventory within a day of receipt of any order. Direct mill shipment can be arranged for larger orders. Swatch books are available on request.
